CRAFTED WITH CARE

How Our Salt is Made

At Olsson's Salt, we take pride in creating our Sea Salt using a traditional and meticulous process.

Sourcing
1

Sourcing

We begin by having high-quality seawater from pristine coastal regions. The purity and mineral content of the seawater contribute to the unique flavors and characteristics of our salt.

Evaporation
2

Evaporation

The seawater is carefully evaporated, through a succession of ponds by natural solar evaporation. This process allows the water to gradually evaporate, leaving behind the salt crystals.

Harvesting
3

Harvesting

As the water evaporates, delicate salt crystals begin to form. Our skilled salt harvesters collect the salt crystals from the salt pans, where they have naturally settled. This harvesting process requires precision and expertise to ensure that only the purest salt crystals are collected.

Washing and Drying

Washing and Drying

The harvested salt crystals are then meticulously washed with sea water. After the washing process, the salt crystals are dried to the perfect moisture level, preserving their natural flavor and texture.

Quality Control

Quality Control

Throughout the entire process, we maintain strict quality control measures to ensure that our Sea Salt meets the highest standards. Our experts carefully monitor the salt for purity, consistency, and flavor profile.

OUR COMMITMENT

Sustainability & Innovation

Every year since, we continue to create new products featuring native Australian ingredients that set us apart. Our new cocktail salt range and native plum salt are just some examples.

Olsson's Blocks sponsors numerous free ruminant nutrition seminars across Australia to educate graziers on better livestock nutrition. We also provide a FreeCall Nutritional Advisory Line (FreeCall: 1800 804 096) where graziers can seek free advice on feeding programs and livestock issues.

While we strive to remain competitive, we are also committed to environmental responsibility. Our block boxes are now made from 100% recycled, unbleached cardboard that livestock can safely consume. We will continue to develop greener products and packaging methods.
